100 years of John Deere tractors

March 2018 is marking the 100th anniversary of John Deere entering the tractor business.
Several models of 2018 John Deere tractors will include a commemorative badge of this milestone including the 6 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series and 9 Series machines. John Deere entered the farm tractor business in March 1918 through the acquisition of the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company.
John Deere has been producing innovations in farm machinery for nearly two centuries, helping customers feed the world. But for the past 100 years, John Deere tractors have been the machines that best portrayed agricultural productivity.
To commemorate its centennial for the tractor business, John Deere and Sydenstricker are planning several activities to celebrate the historic anniversary. John Deere will be placing iconic tractors on display at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum in Waterloo, Iowa, the John Deere Pavilion and John Deere World Headquarters in Moline, Illinois. Sydenstricker will be celebrating the month of March with special promotions and events. Follow Sydenstricker John Deere on Facebook to look for the March promotions. Don’t miss the Drive Green Turf Open house April 6th and April 7th for two days of savings on compact tractors, mowers, gators and parts discounts.
Sydenstricker is proud to be a John Deere dealer and celebrate this milestone – John Deere Tractors at 100. We are sharing a tidbit of John Deere tractor history each Thursday on our Facebook page as part of a throwback Thursday campaign. Find us on Facebook by visiting
