Funeral service for George A. O’Daniel, 63, of Winfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial services will be private in the family cemetery. O’Daniel passed away June 21, 2013 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. Born Aug. 23, 1949, in Florissant, he was the son of Dalton and Elsie O’Daniel. They and one brother, Robert O’Daniel, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Lois O’Daniel, of Winfield; son, Kenneth (Tammy Bell), of Paris, Tenn; son, Michael (Karen) O’Daniel, of Winfield; brothers, Mayo O’Daniel, Leroy O’Daniel, Raymond O’Daniel, and Melvin O’Daniel, all of Paris, Tenn.; four sisters: Bernice O’Daniel, of Montgomery City, Dorothy Veltman, of Steelville, Carolyn Wood, of Bunker and Shirley Wood, of Bunker; eight grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. O’Daniel was a mechanic and the owner of George’s Small Engine Repair. Grace St. John, 62, of Elsberry, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital West at Lake Saint Louis. She was born on Sept. 5, 1950 in St. Louis, to William and Sally Laurent Sr. Grace grew up with her three brothers, and after high school, she furthered her education by attending college. Grace was a loving mother to her six children and was devoted to them. After they were all in school, she began working as a bookkeeper. Canning vegetables from her garden, and baking cookies and her special apple pies were some special memories of her family. Family dinners were a must in her home. She also enjoyed fishing with her family and friends. Surviving are her loving children: Tabatha Howard, James St. John Jr., Tine and husband Sam Payne, Tony and wife, Amanda St. John, Donald DeClue and Daniel DeClue. She is further survived by her 12 adoring grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her two brothers: Ronnie and wife Vickie Laurent and John Laurent Sr. A memorial service will be announced shortly.
