Thompson in custody, suspicion of stabbing

Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte reported that on Dec. 27, 2012, Terry Thompson, age 45, was taken into custody at approximately 8:40 p.m. at 119 North First Street in Clarksville.

Thompson was being sought by the Marshall, Mo. Police Department in conjunction with the stabbing death of a woman in Marshall on Dec. 26.

Earlier in the evening of the 27th, a Clarksville resident contacted the Marshal Police Department after finding out that Thompson was wanted.  Marshall contacted the Highway Patrol who contacted the Korte’s  office. Two troopers and two deputies went to the residence and after entering took Thompson in to custody.  Shortly after midnight, officers from Marshall  arrived and took custody of Thompson. This took place at the Bowling Green Police Department. Thompson is not facing any local charges.

Thompson’s connection to the area is being looked at as part of the ongoing investigation.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
