Three injured when truck strikes backhoe
Three people suffered minor injuries in an accident Tuesday (Jan. 15) on Rt. MM south of Rt. C and in front of Moscow Mills City Hall. Time of the accident was 3 p.m.
According to the statement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2004 John Deere backhoe driven by Charles Watkins, 32, of Troy, was making a left into the private parking lot when a 2005 Dodge Ram driven by Benjamin Holbrook, 24, of Moscow Mills, attempted to pass the backhoe on the left. The front of the Ram struck the left side of the backhoe, sending the Ram off the left side of the road.
Watkins was taken by private conveyance to Lincoln County Medical Center. Holbrook and a passenger, Paige Wood, 22, of Wentzville, were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis. None were using their seat belt at the time of the accident.
Larkin Bennett, Old Monroe, was injured Thursday (Jan. 10), according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on Meier Road just south of South Lindsey Road at 9:25 p.m.
The report said he was driving a 2006 Ford F150 pickup when the vehicle traveled off the right side of roadway, struck a bridge rail, overturned and came to rest on its top in a creek bed.
Bennett was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. His injuries were listed as moderate. He was using his seat belt at the time of the accident.
