Lincoln County Master Gardener’s Spring Education Series will begin soon. A list of some of the upcoming events are list below, but keep in mind, there are many more that will be added to the list as the months go on.
Grape Propagation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. and will be instructed by Desiree Rutherford. Learn about the propagation of grapes, hands-on from a certified Master Gardener. Understand what is necessary to grow healthy grapes. Scion samples for all!
Growing Healthy Trees will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and will be instructed by Mike Rhodes. Learn how to select, plant, and care for trees during their life-cycle. Pruning is included in this class from one of the Master Gardeners, an experienced arborist.
All about the Bird and Bees will be held on Thursday, March 7 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and will be instructed by JoAnn Hill. Learn how to attract birds, bees and butterflies! You can create a sanctuary for these valuable pollinators.
Bulbs, Rhizomes, and Tubers will be held on Thursday, March 14 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. and will be instructed by Dana Pittman. Start the season off with color! Learn to be successful with spring and summer flowering bulbs, corms, tubers and rhizomes.
Growing for Wildlife will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. and will be instructed by Desiree Rutherford. Learn how to attract wildlife away from your edible garden. This is a valuable class for both flower and vegetable gardeners.
Missouri Hardwoods will be held on March 27 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. and will be instructed by Dean Reaka. What do you want to know about our native hardwoods? Come learn about some of the hardiest Missouri trees from a certified Master Gardener. A free seedling will be present to each person.
