Man injured attempting to avoid hitting deer
A Warrenton man suffered minor injuries in a crash Feb. 8 in Lincoln County, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at 6:25 a.m. on County Farm Road, just east of Moon Valley Lane.
Hank Cobb, 20, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.
He was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. He was using his seat belt at the time of the accident.
A second accident occurred on County Farm Road this time just west of Moon Valley Lane. This occurred at 3:55 p.m. Feb. 11. A 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Tera Crum, 37, of Wright City, was westbound on County Farm Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, then re-entered the roadway, overturned and ejected Crum.
She was flown by Arch helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Her injuries were listed as serious. She was not using a seat belt at the time of her accident.
Another accident occurred Feb. 11 at 3:58 p.m. in the northbound lanes, just south of Route C.
The Patrol reported that a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by Aubrey Knight, 19, of Troy and a 1998 International Tractor driven by Harold Cook, 50, of Conroe, Texas, were both northbound with the Camry in the right lane and the International was in the left lane. The International began merging into the right lane, striking the Camry.
Knight suffered minor injuries and was taken by private conveyance to Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. Both drivers were using seat belts at the time of the accident.
Brett Engle, 16, of Silex, suffered moderate injuries Feb.13 in a one-car accident on Route D north of Providence Lane. Time of the accident was 2:10 p.m.
Engle was driving a 1988 Ford Tempo when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. He was using a seat belt at the time of the accident.
He was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West.
