non-for-profit entity improving the lives of families? Well, check out the possibilities through the Lincoln County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Charles Kemper Jr., board member, said the chapter has assisted two families in moving into new homes since the chapter was formed.
“We are currently looking for volunteers to serve on the four existing committees,” he said.
Those committees are selection, family support, finance and church relations. Selection committee looks at applications and makes recommendations to the general board of directors. The family support committee works closely with families teaching them responsibilities of homeownership, home maintenance and financial issues such as budgeting. The finance committee assists in determining payments for the families. The church relations committee helps in many ways such as bringing lunches to work sites and works closely with project volunteers.
