Donald Ray Lee, 58, Troy, was sentenced Friday to six years in prison by Lincoln County Associate Circuit Judge Ben Burkemper.
Lee was captured at gunpoint by David Thompson, president of Peoples Bank and Trust of Lincoln County, on October 30 last year after Lee walked into the bank wearing a Halloween mask. He demanded money from the teller and put his hand in his coat pocket, indicating he had a gun. Lee had no weapon. However, Thompson grabbed his hand gun and followed Lee to the parking lot. He held Lee at gunpoint until police arrived. Lee had $4,779 in the bank bag, according to court documents. He told police he only went into the bank for trick-or-treat.
Lee had pleaded guilty in January to second-degree robbery.
