James Mustain- Dorothy Trescott
James “Jim” P. Mustain, 58, of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1954, in Westchester, Calif. to Robert and Mary Alice (Burchfild) Mustain. Jim grew up with an older brother, Steve, and younger sister, Sally. He was raised in California and went to college there. During his younger days, he loved to race motorcycles and competed in the cross county motocross races. Soon after his formal schooling, he met and married his soulmate, Karen Bilicke. They were blessed with four children: Jim, Kelly, Danny and Erin. In 1993, the Mustain family moved to Wentzville when Jim was transferred to the General Motors plant in Missouri. He retired from G-M after working there 30 years. One of his pastimes was riding his mule, named “Bubba.” He also liked to explore “ghost towns” and was a fan of the old West. Jim was a devoted and loving husband and caring father and grandfather.
Surviving are his beloved wife of almost 35 years, Karen Mustain; his four children: Jim and wife, Robyn Mustain, of Cape Girardeau, Kelly and husband, Jacob Kolonder, of Wright City, Danny and wife. Heather Mustain, of Poplar Bluff and Erin Mustain, of Denver, Colo. He is further survived by his brother, Steve Mustain and his sister, Sally and husband, Robert Vorhies; and his two adoring grandchildren: Zaylee and Macy. other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Trescott, 85, of Winfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Carla Cunningham pastor of Makin Memorial United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Trescott passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
Born May 1, 1927, in Truxton, she was the daughter of Samuel and Olive Evans Weeks. She was a 1946 graduate of Troy High School. She was united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1947, in Troy, to Ray Edward Trescott. This union was blessed with three children: James Phillip, David and Gail. She was a housewife. She was a member of Makin Memorial UMC.
Survivors include one son, David Trescott and his wife, Carla, of Winfield; one grandson, Jeremy Trescott and his wife, Evelyn, of Wentzville; and four great-grandchildren: Denise, Gregg, Dana and Lisa. She also leaves one brother, Quentin Weeks and his wife, Lil, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
