The board of the Lincoln County Mizzou Alumni Chapter is pleased to announce their third annual fundraising event, scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2012. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The event will take place at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and will include silent and live auction, raffles, and games, with a tailgate inspired hor d’oeuvres menu, with many chances to win Mizzou inspired door prizes and auction items, including Mizzou vs. Florida Football tickets. The Norm Ruebling Band will perform which will provide great listening music as well as an opportunity to get up and dance! The event is open to alumni and non-alumni alike.
“Our goal is to provide local activities for Mizzou supporters in Lincoln County without having to make the drive to Columbia,” said John McQuoid, president of the chapter. “Lincoln County has more Mizzou student per capita than any other county in Missouri and we are very proud of that. We hope the community will come out to support this fundraising event so that we can give back to Lincoln County students in the form of scholarships.” The primary goal of the chapter is to raise funds for additional scholarships for students in Lincoln County who are pursuing an education at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Norm Ruebling Band
Norm Ruebling is something of a Columbia icon as well as a Troy native. He is the former associate director of bands for Mizzou and was recently inducted into the Bands of America Hall of Fame. Currently, he performs as percussionist with The Norm Ruebling Band. Norm and his band have promised to “get the party started” and we have no doubt that any resistance to getting out on the dance floor will be futile, because when you hear The Norm Ruebling Band, you MUST dance.
