The Lincoln County R-III Education Foundation recently received the Letter of Determination from the Internal Revenue Service officially designating the organization with a 501(3)c status.

A group of approximately 30 volunteers began in the summer of 2012 to establish the Education Foundation, which enriches the educational opportunities provided to the students in the R-III District with funds above and beyond the tax-based budget. Foundation President Tracy Black is now looking to the future for the organization.

“I want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication in this effort. It is exciting to know we will be able to fulfill our goals as an organization,” she said.

According to the Education Foundation’s Five Year Plan, the organization will award grants in the September 2013.

Foundation members have also re-scheduled the Founding Donor Dinner for Tuesday April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ninth Grade Center in Moscow Mills. The original dinner was cancelled, in late February due to inclement weather. The Founding Donor Dinner will honor those businesses and individuals that have or will become Founding Donors for the Education Foundation. Tickets include a catered dinner, student entertainment, keynote speaker Pat Flynn and more information about the future impact of the foundation.
