Ella Margaret Colbert, 84, of Hawk Point, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1929, in Corso, a daughter of the late John and Ella (MacDonald) Duff. She was united in marriage to Clifford Colbert on Oct. 7, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1984. To this union eight children were born.
Ella graduated from the Hawk Point School District. In 1954 Clifford and Ella founded Cliff N Ella’s Tavern in Hawk Point and is still a family owned business today. She was a member of the Hawk Point Ladies Auxiliary, Hawk Point Booster Club and Hawk Point Baptist Church. While raising eight children and running the tavern, she still found time for sewing, crocheting, painting and gardening.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn Colbert of Hawk Point, Jimmy Colbert and wife, Linda, of Hawk Point, Dixie Toebben and husband, Jim of Hawk Point, Princess Cannon of O’Fallon, Tammy Stout of Hawk Point and John Colbert and wife, Debi of Sullivan; siblings: Randall Duff, Johnny Duff and wife, Mary Jane, Clayton Duff and wife, Barbara, Barb Mudd and Judy Royster and husband, Joe; 14 grandchildren: Stephanie Buscher, Trent Colbert, Ashley Brown, Jeremy Colbert, Cindy Harrison, Lisa Roettger, Donnie Roettger, Brittany Fravell, Taylor Cannon, Tera Stout, Mandy Stout, Michael Stout, Paige Colbert and Courtney Colbert; 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home/Hawk Point Chapel, 41 Farm Lane, Hawk Point. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Hawk Point Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Huffman. Interment will be held at Hawk Point Cemetery.

A graveside service for Graydon DeeMorry “Pigtail” Davis, 78, of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Dinah Sutton, chaplain for AmHeart Hospice will officiate.
Mr. Davis, 78, passed away early Saturday morning, March 30, 2013, at his home near Elsberry.
Born Nov. 9, 1934, in the New Hope Community, he was the son of Graydon O. and Hazel A. Skinner Davis. He served his country in the United States Army from June 2, 1956 until being honorably discharged on May 20, 1959. He was united in marriage on April 15, 1976 in Poteau, Okla. to Grace Jeanette Summers.
He worked for many years as a plumber.
Survivors include two stepsons: Ronald James Baker, Jr. and his wife, Georgia, and Sidney Lavaugh Baker and his wife, Lydia, all of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Tim Baker and his wife, Michelle, of Elsberry, Dakota Causemaker of Ohio, and Dustin Hollingsworth; and four great-grandchildren: Brooke and Bridget Baker and Elizabeth and Larissa Hollingsworth. He also leaves bunches of nieces and nephews: Louis Davis, Catherine Grist, Debbie Semon, Rich Davis, Brenda Powelson, Vicki Pickard and Billy Ed Davis; numerous great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Donald Edward “Eddie” Leverenz, 73, of Old Monroe, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2 – 8 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
