Judith Helmick-Robert Scheler
Funeral services for Judith Ann Helmick, 70, of Winfield, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, Rev. Dennis Pyecraft of Indianapolis, Ind. and Rev. Tim Yankee of Ludington, Mich., will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.
Mrs. Helmick passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Bridgeton, N.C.
Born July 9, 1942 in Belleview, Mich., she was the daughter of Dale Samuel and Barbara Wilma McComb Smith. She was united in marriage on Dec. 15, 1962, in Traverse City, Mich. to Roger D. Helmick. This union was blessed with four children: Kelly, Kevin, Tim, and Terry.
She was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Winfield and the Women’s Bible Study Fellowship at First Baptist Church in St. Charles. She loved spending time with family and friends, including traveling to visit with those in other parts of the country
Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Roger Helmick of Winfield; one daughter, Kelly Helmick, of St. Charles; three sons: Kevin Helmick and his wife, Sheryl, of Bridgeton, N.C., Tim Helmick and his wife, Char, of St. Peters, and Terry Helmick and his wife, Samantha, of Emden, Mo.; and nine grandchildren: Emily, Tanner, David, Courtney, Caleb, Tyler, Michael, Logan and Alyssa. She also leaves two sisters: Shelley Patch of Texas and Sue VanDerske of Michigan; cherished family members; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She will be missed by her beloved sheltie, Patrick.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Winfield.

Visitation for Robert Joseph “Robbie” Scheler, 34, of Foley, will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Mr. Scheler, 34, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. He was born Oct. 18, 1978 in Louisville, Ken. He was an aspiring artist.
Survivors include his parents, Kathleen Shallow and her husband, Daniel, of Foley and Earl Scheler of Louisville; one brother, Earl W. Scheler of Louisville; and one sister, Gloria Anderson, also of Louisville. He also leaves three uncles: Joseph L. Brunwell of Dele., Michael Shallow and his wife, MaryAnn, of Troy, and Patrick Shallow and his wife, Ann, of St. Charles; three aunts: Evelyn Brumwell, of New York, Bonnie Dameron, of Elsberry, and Terry Tobin of Tennessee; his good friend, Ryan York of Wentzville; several cousins, other relatives and friends.
