The installation of a sidewalk through Troy Fairgrounds Park (city park) to Troy Buchanan High School began last week. Pictured above are employees of Karrenbrock Construction smoothing out concrete. The sidewalk will run from the end of Monroe, through the park, cross Lincoln and continue to the school at a length of over 4,242 linear feet. This is being paid for through an enhancement grant with MoDOT. This is Phase I of the project. Phase II will occur in 2014 with the construction of the pedestrian bridge crossing Hwy. 61. MoDOT, City of Troy and the Lincoln County R-III School District will finance Phase II. Improving safety is the goal of the project. The sidewalk connecting Main to Monroe will also be replaced.
