Owls lose two games on the diamond

Silex Owls lost two recent high school baseball games including a 12-2 decision to North Callaway on April 3 and 22-9 to Elsberry on April 4.

The Owls fell behind early to North Callaway, trailing 9-1 after three innings. In the game, Matt Huber had two hits with Ryan Eisenbath and Wyatt Groshong driving in the runs. Eiesenbath drove his in with a sacrifice fly. Troy Strunk, Chad Brown and Zach Miller saw time on the pitching mound with Strunk allowing six earned runs and was charged with the loss.

In the loss to Elsberry, Silex again fell behind early as the Indians pushed across five runs in the first. Silex rallied with a six-run second inning but Elsberry sealed the win with a five-run fifth inning and six in the seventh. Eisenbath, Austin Fleming and Augie Martin drove in two runs apiece with Eisenbath and Groshong getting two hits each. Eisenbath was charged with the loss. Josh Adams and Brown also pitched.
