Funeral service for Ruth Marie Wippler, 84, of Troy, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawk Point. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Pitman Funeral Home in Warrenton.

Mrs. Wippler passed away April 18, 2013, at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.

Born April 6, 1929, in Florissant, she was the daughter of Bernard and Sarah Tipp.

Survivors include her sons, Raymond Wippler and wife, Janet, of Troy and John Wippler, of St. Peters; daughters, Marie and husband, Kenneth Boland, of Wright City, Susan and husband, Stephen Stolle, of Troy; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawk Point and the Altar Sodality of St. Mary’s He loved to read, sew and crochet.

Ruth Zuroweste

Ruth Zuroweste, 85, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Joseph West, Lake Saint Louis.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1927, in Troy to Vesper and Vecie (Tillotson) Creech. Ruth grew up with her older brother, Carl. They would ride their horses and also walk to the one-room school house. At about the age of 6, Ruth became acquainted with her future husband, Al Zuroweste. After her formal schooling, Ruth graduated from beauty school in St. Louis and opened her own shop in Wentzville. She loved meeting the public.

At the age of 22, Ruth and Al tied the knot on May 8, 1949. They continued to live in Wentzville before moving to Rock Hill. To this union were born three children: Don, Bob “Dale” and Ann. She was a caring wife and mother and took great pride in her family.

The Zuroweste family bought their first farm in Silex, later moving to the Truxton area. From 1963 until 1983, Ruth began selling real estate and enjoyed this venture.

Surviving are her beloved husband of over 64 years, Al Zuroweste of Troy; her three children and their spouses: Don and wife, Debbie Zuroweste of Cole Camp, Bob “Dale” and wife, Betty Zuroweste of Truxton and Ann and her husband Jim Vagen of Mehlville. She is further survived by her adoring five grandchildren: Rob and his wife Ellie Zuroweste, Amy Zuroweste, Jane Zuroweste, Scott Zuroweste and Christy Zuroweste; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St., Troy.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center, Troy. Officiating will be Rev. Darrell Alley. Interment  will follow in Zion Cemetery in Truxton.

Memorials may be made to the Cardinal Glennon’s Children’s Hospital, c/o the funeral home.
