Funeral services for Judith Ann Douglas, 67, of O’Fallon, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Burial will follow in Whispering Winds Cemetery.
Mrs. Douglas passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Winfield.
Born Aug. 31, 1945, in Kennett, she was the daughter of Walker and Iva P. Stark Johnson. She was united in marriage on Aug. 10, 1979 in Granite City, Ill. to Terry Blaine Douglas.
She worked as a manager for various restaurants, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 33 years, Terry Douglas, of O’Fallon; one daughter, Sandra Kay Morris and her husband, John, of Winfield; two grandchildren Joshua Justus and Jessica Gray; and three great-grandchildren: Tanner Justus, Kayley Justus and Carter Justus. She also leaves two brothers: W.A. Dub Johnson and his wife, Loita, of St. Louis, and Ken Johnson of AR; one sister, Marcel Kohn of Granite City; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.

Aleta Joan Schloemann
Aleta Joan Schloemann, 66, of Midland, Mich., went to be with Jesus on May 21, 2013 after a lengthy battle with liver disease.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Penn, of 49 years. After a five-day engagement, they were married in Troy, Mo. On Sept. 14, 1963. Although the actual date was a few months away, they were able to celebrate their marriage with a special 50th wedding anniversary party that was held at Light and Life Park in Lakeland, Fla., their winter home. It was a very special time for all.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her children: Chris (Elaine) Schloemann, of Midland and Tracy (Bill) Hall, of Indianapolis, Ind; her grandchildren, Camie and Kallie Schloemann, Midland, Alex, Jocelyn and Katey Hall, of Indianapolis, and step-grandchildren, Nik Hall, San Francisco, Calif., Jordan, Blake and Faith Jacobs, of Midland. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Frances Schloemann, of Midland, her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Judy King, of Troy and nieces Robin (Brian) Chesser and Marsha (Randy) Christman, all of Troy.
Joan was born in Troy on Nov. 2, 1946. She graduated from Carbondale High School in Illinois in 1964. Joan worked for several years as an administrative assistant for both Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company and Midland Public Schools. She was also a Longaberger Basket distributor and enjoyed basket collection. Joan spent most of her career taking care of her children and husband as a homemaker.
Joan enjoyed camping and traveling between Midland and Lakeland, Fla. She especially enjoyed spending time in the Smokey Mountains area, Pigeon Forge, Tenn. And going to Dollywood. She loved spending her winters and Light and Life Park in Lakeland with her special friends. She enjoyed quilting; her children and grandchildren all cherish the beautiful quilt’s that she’s made for them.
A memorial service will be held at the Midland Free Methodist Church, 5821 Eastman Ave. in Midland on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Kessler and Pastor Ward Sipes officiating. Family will greet friends before the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will take place in the Zoar Cemetery near Troy at a later date.

Funeral Mass for Mildred S. Scott, 95, of Moscow Mills, will be held at 10a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at St. Theodore Church, Flint Hill. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held May 29, 3-8 p.m. at the Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
She passed away May 25, 2013. Born July 13, 1917, in Josephville, she was the daughter of Fred and Pauline Kersting who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were her husband, Joseph Donald Scott; sister, Sister M. Maura, CPPS; sister, Dorothy Hepperman; sister, Viola Christrup and brother, Paul Kersting.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Scott and wife, Joyce and John Scott and wife, Margaret, of Moscow Mills; three daughters, Eileen Kalupa, of Moscow Mills, Mary Kay Wyeth and husband, Terry, of O’Fallon and Ann Marie Phelps and husband, Mitch, of Moscow Mills; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.

Funeral services for Lewis Francis Lavy, 74, of Elsberry, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Bob Hutsell, pastor of Praying Hands Church of Louisiana, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry.
Mr. Lavy passed away Saturday morning, May 25, 2013 at Silex Community Care Center near Silex.
Born May 26, 1938 in St. Charles, he was the son of Jess Francis and Ruby M. Yarnell Lavy. He was united in marriage on June 29, 1963 in Elsberry, to Latricia Gail Kerpash. This union was blessed with two children: Jess Edward and Lisa Mae. He worked for a number of years as supervisor of municipal water utilities for Rock Island, Ill. and Tampa, Fla., retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Praying Hands Church in Louisiana.
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Gail Lavy, of Elsberry; one son, Jesse Lavy and his wife, Robbin, of Elsberry; one daughter: Lisa Farmer and her husband, Lloyd, of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren: Christina Ann Elston and her husband, Don, Jesse James Lavy, Kenneth Gregory Lavy and Tiffany Amber Farmer; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Bob Lavy and his wife, Shirley, of Chillicothe, Ill.; one sister, Rillia Lavy Poteet and her husband, Jim, of Bellflower; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Funeral services for Yvettae “Pete” McClelland, 82, of Old Monroe, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, officiated with burial in Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis.
Mrs. McClelland passed away late Saturday evening, May 25, 2013, at Lincoln County Nursing & Rehab Center in Troy.
Born Oct. 4, 1930, in Perryville, she was the daughter of Perry and Fannie Wofford Davis. She was a 1948 graduate of Perryville High School. She was united in marriage on Aug. 22, 1962, in East St. Louis, Ill. to Albert Lee McClelland.
She was employed for 30 years as an electronic board assembler at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Manufacturer in St. Louis, retiring in 1993. The McClellands moved to the Winfield area in 1992. She was a member of Winfield First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Newton and his wife, Karen, of Moscow Mills; two daughters: Lynn Goff and her husband, Darrell, of Winfield and Kathy Lovett and her husband, Bob, of Fenton; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Perry Davis and his wife, Brenda, of Perryville and Herbert Davis and his wife, Carol, of Perryville; two sisters: Gladys Vernon and Pearlene House, both of Perryville; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
