In 2000, William Cappel Elementary opened. To commemorate the opening, Tammy Nordmann’s kindergarten class created a time capsule. On Friday, May 17, former students and 2013 Troy Buchanan graduates Brittany Dickherber and Dalton Gilbert returned to open their kindergarten time capsule.

Both students met Nordmann’s kindergarten class and Dickherber read The Wide Mouth Frog to the students, which she had heard in Nordmann’s class years before. The students and their former teacher opened the time capsule which enclosed their favorite things and what they wanted to be when they grew up. The time capsule also contained a book that was written by the class and a picture they had each drawn of themselves with their friends in Kindergarten.

Nordmann gave Gilebrt and Dickherber each a new book called Oh, The Places You’ll Go, the graduate edition, so they could write about their new dreams and friendships
