Teens making a mess to stay clean
The Lincoln County Drug and Alcohol Reduction Team (DART) hosted the first annual mud volleyball tournament “spike the ball and not the Punch” on Thursday, May 23 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The event was a huge success with approximately 176 students competing in the event, 42 volunteers, and approximately 500 people attending. The event was open to all middle school and high school students in the Lincoln County School Districts. This year winners in the middle school division were the Troy School District. The high school winners were the Silex School District. The winning teams received a trophy for the win, which will be kept at their school. In addition, all team members for the middle school and high school division were presented an I-Pod Nano for finishing in 1st place. Other I-Pods were given to a Troy Buchannan High School team for best sportsmanship, provided by Preferred Family Healthcare.
