Firefighters need help in raising funds for kids with burns to attend camp

Each year, Lincoln County Fire sponsors a fundraiser for Missouri Children’s Burn Camp. This year’s event will be held at American Thunder Grill in Troy on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The Lincoln County Fire Protection District will have a car, truck and bike show, great food, fire trucks, sprinklers for the kids, DJ, face painting, raffles and much more.

Missouri Children’s Burn Camp is held each year at Lake of the Ozarks on a 960 acre facility, designed for the purpose. It is a positive and beneficial experience for kids, ages 6-17 who’ve been hospitalized for often disfiguring burns. The camp is free to kids who’ve suffered burn injuries and supported by donations. Burns Recovered Support Group, www.brsg.org, a non-profit organization, runs the camp and provides so much more for these kids who often have difficulties re-integrating into society.

Local firefighters need your support to make this event successful and give these kids a great experience. Bring the family and enjoy a great meal at American Thunder Grill, visit with the firefighters or tour the fire trucks.
