The Winfield Police Department would like to announce the results of the Driving While Intoxicated Checkpoint that was conducted on Friday, June 21, 2013. A total of 477 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. There were two arrests made for driving while intoxicated. There were 18 summons issued. The summons issued included driving while intoxicated, minor in possession of alcohol, driving while suspended/revoked/denied, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, failed to activate turn signal, lane violation, and careless and imprudent driving.
“The Winfield Police Department would like to thank the community and visitors for their patience and cooperation during the checkpoint. We extend our thanks to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Old Monroe Police Department, Foley Police Department, Bellflower Police Chief and the use of his K-9 partner, Missouri Department of Transportation, and the Winfield-Foley Fire Department for the assistance during the operation.
