Blase Brunnert-Lorenzo Ecford-Gudrun (Gundi) Stone
A Mass of Christian Burial for Blase Joseph Brunnert, 91, of Old Monroe, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Ed Brunnert will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Mr. Brunnert, 91, passed away early Thursday morning, July 25, 2013 at Delmar Gardens in O’Fallon, MO.
Born Jan. 5, 1922, in Old Monroe, he was the son of Anton “Tony” and Loretta Herbert Brunnert. He lived on the family farm his entire life, where he worked as a dairy farmer. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include his dear friends, Paul and Clara Hoeckelmann of O’Fallon; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church.

Lorenzo Stanton Ecford, Jr. 48, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1965, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Lorenzo Stanton and Lillie (Green) Ecford. He was united in marriage to Erma Ford on March 24, 2000, in Troy, Ala.
Lorenzo was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Stimets High School in 1985. He was a hard worker and a master truck driver for many years, until his illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Erma Ecford of Winfield; his father, Lorenzo Stanton Ecford, Sr. of Chicago, Ill.; children, Michael, Florence, Jacob, Leticia, Lorenzo Ecford III, Lorenzo Ecford IIII, Stanisha, Lorasia and Raven; father, Lorenzo Stanton Ecford, Sr.; step-children, Markita, Johnny, Anthony, and Antwone; siblings, Marilyn Ecford Hill, Otis C. Ecford, Demetrius L. Green, Lectricia D. Green and Lillie M. Ecford; eleven grandchildren, and he was a father, grandpa and accepted every child as his own; aunts, uncles, one great-aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Funeral Home / Troy Chapel. Gudrun (Gundi) Lore Stone, 74, of Kansas City, Mo, passed away July 24, 2013. Visitation was held at Park Hill Christian Church in Kansas City, on Tuesday, July 30, from 2-4 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4 pm.
Gundi was born June 8, 1939, in Chemnitz, Germany.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Stone, Jr.; children Doniela King (Ann), Don A. (Leslie) King, Jr., and Cheryl Stone; she was “Oma” to Janay, Cody, Katie, Claire, Daniel and Drew; brother-in-law, Ed (Donna) Stone; nieces, Kristen (Steven) Hagemeier, Lynette (Joel) Conderman ; nephew Jared Stone (Amanda); great-nieces and nephews: Lane, Megan, Tyler, Ella and Alex.
Gundi lead an adventurous life that began in Dusseldorf, Germany and led to Dodge City, Kan. She loved to travel back to her home country and return with generous gifts for family and friends. She had an infectious laugh that matched her stubborn German heritage and was proud when she became a naturalized American citizen in 1964. She made many friends while working at a restaurant, clothing store and hospital lab. She also shared her talent of teaching college students German classes. Her hospitality was appreciated as she welcomed many German exchange teachers to the Mt. Washington Magnet Elementary School program.
