Donna Kay Simpson, 71, of Troy, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 31, 1942, in Macon, a daughter of the late Donald Kel and Dorothy Mae (Vanskike) Bryant. Donna was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Simpson on Sept. 21, 1962, in Troy. To this union three children were born.
Donna graduated from Buchanan High in 1960 and continued her education at University of Missouri. She worked in Lincoln County as a 911 Database Manager. Donna was a member of the Martha Dyer Club and Calvary Chapel.
She was a strong spirited woman, with a heart of gold and always wanting to help others. Donna never knew a stranger, always had a smile on her face and love in her eyes.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gerald “Jerry” Simpson Troy; children, Scott Simpson and wife, Kris, of Troy, Lance Simpson and wife, Amber of Troy, and Kelly Bone and husband, Kevin of O’Fallon; brother Larry Bryant of Columbia; one sister, Bonnie Palmer and husband, Rich of Old Monroe; grandchildren, Tyler Simpson, Morgan Simpson, Zach Simpson, Samantha Simpson, Drew Millar, Nolan Bone and Reagan Bone, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Calvary Chapel in Troy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at Calvary Chapel (28 Snyder Road), Troy. Officiating the service will be Pastor Wes Denham and Pastor Kelly Hardcastle.
