Delano Brown was re-elected to the Cuivre River Electric Board of Directors.
Cuivre River Electric Cooperative members elected four directors at their annual meeting Friday, August 9 at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Nearly 3,000 people attended the event.
Four incumbent directors were re-elected to new three-year terms in their respective districts.
Lincoln County District 2: Delano Brown of Winfield defeated Jim O’Brien of Winfield and Jackie Davis of Foley.
Pike County: Walter Gregory of Bowling Green defeated Don Gerken, Jr. of Eolia.
St. Charles County District 2: Diane Saale of Defiance defeated Tom Moore of Foristell, Dr. Timothy Graven of Foristell, and Robert Hussey of Wentzville.
Warren County District 1: Dennis Brakensiek of Wright City defeated Chad Smith of Truxton.
Prior to the business meeting, the Central County Fire Rescue Color Guard presented the flag to honor America.
Dennis and Lois Gregory of St. Charles won the top prize of free electricity for one year ($1,500 bill credit). Lawrence and Debra Bax of O’Fallon and Inez Trump of Wright City each took home second prizes of a $500 bill credit. Linda Wright of Wentzville and Dolores Vollmer of St. Peters each won third place prizes of $250 bill credits. Certificates from other retailers plus individual months of free electricity were also awarded.
A total of 407 children registered to win special attendance prizes. The grand prize bike winners were Madelyn Bone of Warrenton and Grant Hayes of Troy.
Cuivre River is the largest electric cooperative in Missouri, providing dependable electric service to over 60,000 homes and businesses. Currently 58 percent of Cuivre River members live in St. Charles County, 25 percent in Lincoln County, 15 percent in Warren County, and 2 percent in Pike County. Several members also live in Montgomery County.
