Orville “Art” Ray Scarbrough, 77 of Troy, passed away on Friday, Aug.16, 2013 at the Troy Manor.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1935, in St. Louis County and was a son of the late Ray W. and Jewel (Rossen) Scarbrough. Orville was united in marriage to Nancy Volland on March 22, 1965 at the Justice of the Peace Center in Illinois. To this union four daughters were born.

Orville enlisted in the Army in 1950 and he served in the Korean War as a tank driver and drill instructor. While serving his country he was wounded in battle, earned a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in 1957.

Orville had many jobs over the years, his favorite was truck driving, which he drove for 15 years.  He was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Moscow Mills, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Scarbrough of Troy; four daughters, Lorie Myers (J.R.) of Moscow Mills, Linda Korando of O’Fallon, Lisa Scarbrough, of Troy and LeeAnn Barton (Roy) of Moscow Mills; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, one nephew, numerous relatives and many friends.

Friends will be received from 4 to  7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home / Troy Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. at the chapel.

Funeral services for John Peter Schopp, 71,  of Moscow Mills, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.  Van Williams, Am Heart Hospice Chaplain, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.

Mr. Schopp passed away Friday morning, Aug. 16, 2013, at Troy Manor in Troy.

Born Sept. 6, 1941, in St. Louis County, he was the son of Lester Elmer and Irma Mueller Schopp.  He was united in marriage on July 10, 1959 in St. Louis to Jean Leslie Urich.  This union was blessed with three children: John, Patty and Tammy.

He owned AA Conditioned Air – Jefferson County for many years, retiring in 2005.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Jean Schopp, of Moscow Mills; one son, John L. Schopp, of Piedmont; two daughters: Patty Hoelting and her husband, Jerry, of Old Monroe, MO and Tammy Shular and her husband, Greg, of Sarasota, Fla.; ten grandchildren: Shannon Schopp, Melissa Schopp, John Schopp, Tiffany Anderson, Reba Anderson, Josh Hoelting, Sophee Hoelting, Austin Shular, Tabitha Shular and Sam Schopp; and ten great-grandchildren.  He also leaves two sisters: Marie Hannah of Eldon, and Ruth Akridge and her husband, Bill, of Imperial; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.

Ka’mya Cole

Infant Ka’mya Jae Cole, of Hawk Point, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.

She was born on July 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Ka’mya’s parents are Tobias Cole and Caroline Montgomery of Hawk Point. Her grandparents are Pat and Donnie Ryans of Silex, she is further survived by many other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Troy. A funeral service  will also be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Troy. Mutemah Sinclair will officiate. Interment will follow in Troy City Cemetery in Troy.
