Ms. Charly D. (Ransom) Thomas, 29, of St. Charles, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Okla.
Charly was born on March 26, 1984, in St. Louis to Curt and Kathy Ransom of Silex.
Charly grew up on a farm and loved the outdoor life of hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding and boating. She never missed a chance to out-fish her companions.
Charly graduated from Christian Center Academy in Troy and went on to complete her Associates Degree as a Paralegal from Kaplan University. Charly was a legal secretary for the Armstrong-Teasdale law firm in Clayton and developed many close friends. Charly loved to dance. Charly also liked photography and was always taking pictures of her friends and family having a good time. Charly always thought of others even in her time of crisis, in her second week at the cancer treatment center, she cut her beautiful long brown hair and donated it to “Locks of Love”. In the face of adversity, Charly thanked God for allowing her this opportunity to become closer to Him. Charly accepted the Lord as her savior when she was in her early teens and is now dancing in the streets of heaven singing praises to His Name. Charly’s joy brought sunshine to so many others. Charly touched a lot of lives in her short time here on earth, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Charly is survived by her loving parents, Curt and Kathy Ransom of Silex; her former husband Nick Thomas and family; her older sisters: Monica Ransom of Desoto and Christa Barker of Boston, Mass.; her grandmother, Martha Davis, her aunts and uncles: Mike and Jean Bradsher, Bruce and Sue Baird, Don and Wanda Stein, Gillette Ransom, Linda and Gene Avery; her cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, from 4 until 8 p.m. also Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, from noon until 2 pm service time. Funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at 2 pm, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone Street, Troy. Reverand George Prior will officiate. Interment will follow in Troy City Cemetery, Troy.

Joseph “Joe”Baker, 44, of Troy, passed away on Aug. 19, 2013. Joe was born on June 29, 1969,in Tucson, Ariz. On July 7, 1997, he was married to Paula and they began their lives together. Joe and Paula loved spending time with all of their children: Ian, Stacie, Clinton, Kurtis, Danielle, Joseph and Lauren. He was an avid sportsman, coach, volunteer, jack-of-all-trades and master of many. Joe had a servant’s heart and believed in’paying it forward.’ Being a member of St. Louis Family Church was a big part of the Bakers’ life and they have received so much support from their church family. Joe was a Moscow Mills Police Volunteer, Junior Trojan Football coach and past president of the Troy Wrestling Booster Club.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Paula Baker of Troy; his children: Ian (Kari) Andersen, of St. Charles, Stacie (Dustin) Schock of Ukiah, Ore., Clinton Andersen, of Troy, Kurtis Andersen, of Columbia, Danielle Morio of Nashville,Tenn., Joseph Baker, of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Lauren Baker, of Troy. He is further survived by his parents: Iris (Thom) Hardy of Troy and his sister Meredith Austin, of Ballwin; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, from 4-9 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St., Troy.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 24, 2013, at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Troy. Officiating will be Pastor John Moore of The St. Louis Family Church.

He was the beloved husband of Tammye Bray Bell; father of Laura Gwen Hodges, Mozelle Lynn Davis, Esther Marie Ward, Robert E. Bell III, Michael O. Bell, Raymond D. Bell, Mitzi A. Rea, Crystale G. Martin, James V. Bell, William O. Marshall, Tammy J. Carriere and Charles T. Marshall; brother of Reon Renee Sears, Carol Ernestine Cook, the late Judith Lee Devoto and Leslie Jean Goggin; son of the late Maxine Walton Bell and Robert E. Bell, Sr. H is also survived by 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1977. He served during the Korean War, the Vietnam War and spent some of that time in Thailand.
Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, Aug, 23, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel.
