Last fall, photojournalists from around world converged in Troy, participating in the annual Missouri Photography Workshop (MPW). Each fall, a Missouri community is selected to host this event. The photographers spent several days with their subjects during the day and worked evenings at Troy City Hall.
Copies of the MPW Troy book project have arrived with a limited supply available for sale at The Lincoln County Journal office at #20 Professional Park Drive. It’s a 176-page book with an introduction that provides history of the community in text and pictures, followed by with two or four-page stories from each of the MPW photographer’s work. Missouri University master’s candidate Timmy Huynh did it as his thesis project, and the whole project was supervised by David Rees, photojournalism professor at the university and MPW co-director Jim Curley. It’s the fifth in the series of MPW books.
The books sell for $25, plus tax, per book. If someone wants to purchase ten r more books (and theywould make excellent Christmas present for local history buffs), there is a reduction in price and even more of a discount for purchase of 100 books or more.
