Every contestant was a winner thanks to the wonderful sponsors. Chrystal Schuerman, the tireless organizer of the pageant, would like to thank the following individuals and organizations for their assistance and generosity: American Family Insurance, Amber Schafer, Troy Flower, Carol Rittenberry of Spirit Things Embroidery, Pat Reid of Crystal Photography, The Lincoln County Fair Board, the Vehige family, Horse.com, Troy Movie House, The Shirt Laddee of Silex, The Daly Family, Sally Prinster, Schuerman Farms, Austin Roper of Ropin R Ranch, Sally Nauman, Dennis Brooks and the pageant assistants Tracy Leitman and Deja Dotson and Sara VanAusdal. Ticket sales by the pageant contestants raised over $1,900 dollars for the Troy FFA and Relay for Life.
In addition to the aforementioned Senior Queen and Runner up, the remainder of the contestants included Junior Queen participants Brittany Nensel, the 13 year old daughter of Dawn and Tom Nensel of Moscow Mills; Bailey Carter, the 15 year old daughter of Kirk and Vicky Carter of Bowling Green. Emily Taylor, the 12 year old daughter of James and Jean Taylor of Winfield; Claire Beckman, the 14 year old daughter of Michelle and Gerry Beckman of Moscow Mills; Kaitlyn Bross, the 13 year old daughter of Matthew and Janice Bross of Flint Hill; Alexa Daly, the 13year old daughter of Darren and Theresa Daly of O’Fallon; and Cassie Meyers, the 14 year old daughter of Jill and Brysan Meyers of Troy.
The additional Princess contestants included Nichole Edwards, the 8 year old daughter of Patrick and Tara Edwards of Old Monroe and Bridgette Dewitt and Jay Crosley of O’Fallon; Deana Raasch, the 11 year old daughter of Leonard and Tracy Raasch of Foley; Casie (KC) Pruitt, the 11year old daughter of Dan and Michelle Pruitt of Silex; and Danielle Williams, the 13 year old daughter of Paul and Diane Williams of Moscow Mills.
Having attended the contest I can assure you that all of these young ladies put out an incredible amount of effort and are “winners” in my book for all the hard work and practice it took to get to the contest. Every year they seem to “up their game” and we should be honored to have them as part of our community.
