Kathleen Hoeft Clark – Charlene Picker- Billie Slatton-Bonnie Ward

Kathleen “Kitty” Hoeft Clark, 92, passed away on Sunday Oct. 6, 2013.

She was born July 3,1921, to Harrison and Susie (Sitton) Crouch in TroyAfter attending the local schools, Kitty later met and married Wilbert Hoeft on Feb 10,1940 in St.Charles. To this union were born five children: Larry, Jerry, Lurlene, Butch and Charlene.

Kitty worked at Missouri Meerschaump Corn Cob Pipe Factory for over ten years. She served as a volunteer for LCCOA and OATS for over 30 years.Kitty was a member of the Eastern Star in Warrenton, 4-H leader, member of Immanuels United Church of Christ, Missouri Extension Club and served many offices in the Holstein PTA.

Kitty is survived by her loving family of three sons: Larry Hoeft, of Jefferson City, Jerry (Barbara) Hoeft of St. Charles, Butch (Lorraine)Hoeft of Marthasville; one daughter; Lurlene (Pat) Seaman of St. Charles, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation – Wednesday Oct. 9, 2013 at McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Center Troy.

Funeral will be Thursday Oct. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Immanuels United Church of Christ in Holstein Interment will be the Holstein Cemetery in Holstein.

Charlene Picker

Charlene Carol Picker, 71, of Troy passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.

She was born on Nov. 30, 1941 in Sedalia, the child of James E. Gatewood and Ruby P. (Wheatley) Bishop. Charlene later married the love of her life, Raymond H. Picker. She and her husband were blessed with five children, a son, Randall, and four daughters: Rebecca, Lisa, Christine, Teresa.

Charlene was a hard worker. She worked for many years at in Troy, at Big-T and developed quite a following.  When she wasn’t working she enjoyed working on ceramics, playing card games, bingo and dancing. Charlene really enjoyed listening to music.

 

Charlene is survived by her children: Rebecca Law, of O’Fallon, Lisa Boeckman and her husband, Mark of Wentzville, Christine Armstrong, of St. Charles, Teresa and her husband, Ray Tibbs of Troy, and one son, Randall Picker of St. Louis, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013,  from 4 until 9 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, in Troy.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013¸ 11 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, in Troy. Mr. Ray Tibbs and Mr. Mark Boeckman will officiate. Interment will be  private.

Billie Slatton

Billie Slatton

Billie L. Slatton, 88, of Elsberry, and formerly of Troy, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Barnes/Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.

She was born on June 19, 1925, in Trumann, Ark. to Ray and Celia (Wallace) Stephenson. Billie was the first born and had three younger siblings. She met her future husband, Trumann Slatton, in her home state of Arkansas. While her husband was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps., Billie moved to California and lived with her father. Upon Trumann’s honorable discharge from service, the couple moved back to Arkansas and then Bloomington, Ill. and later to St. Louis. They were blessed with four children: Lequetta, Ray, Carla and Barbara.

Billie and her husband were the owners of the Carquest Auto Parts Store in Glasgow Village in St. Louis. The couple not only worked together but also bowled together on a league. Billie was an interesting person who liked to fish, cook, watch western shows on the T.V. and loved Elvis Presley. In 1991, her beloved husband, Trumann, passed away.  She moved to Troy to be closer to some family in 1992. She was always a hard worker and in her retirement years, began working for Burger King, McDonald’s and Hardees.

Surviving are her loving children: Lequetta Flynn, of Eagan, Minn., Ray Slatton, of Tampa, Fla., Carla and husband, Mark Saunchgrow of Elsberry, Barbara Slatton, of Moscow Mills; her 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her brother, Raymond Hobbs of the state of Washington, other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation  will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, from 9-11 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Ctr, 1304 Boone St., Troy.

Funeral service will  also held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. from McCoy-Blossom Funeral & Cremation Ctr, Troy location. Officiating will be Rev. Donnie Slatton.

Interment followed in the Friedens Cemetery, St. Louis.

Bonnie Ward

Bonnie Ward

A graveside inurnment for Bonnie Lynn Ward, 70, of Old Monroe, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Troy City Cemetery in Troy.

Mrs. Ward passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 4, 2013 at her home.

Born Nov. 10, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Hugh F. and Iretha V. Adams McGuinness.  She was united in marriage on July 7, 1963, in Overland, to Kenneth William Ward.  This union was blessed with one son, Chad.

She worked at the seafood counter for Dierbergs.

Survivors include one son, Chad Ward and his wife, Carrie, of Winfield; and two granddaughters: Peyton and Olivia.  She also leaves one brother, Lance Wilson and his wife, Rose, of Robertsville; one sister, Penny Sarandos and her husband, Peter, of St. Charles, MO; other relatives and friends.
