On Monday, October 14, Winfield Intermediate celebrated the academic achievement of a group of students by inducting 30 new members into their National Elementary Honor Society. This is the first group of fourth and fifth grade students to receive this honor and the first group of Honor Society Students. National Elementary Honor Society recognizes students for their academic achievement and is based on the four pillars of Scholarship, Service, Responsibility, and Leadership. Students were pinned by a sponsor they chose and each lit a candle from the flame of a large candle representing the four pillars. Students then recited a pledge and officially became the first National Elementary Honor Society at Winfield Intermediate.
