The Bowling Green Police Department advises area residents of a scam they have received several complaints from residents about.

According to the complaints a subject with a foreign accent calls the resident stating they have won the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes. The subject tells the individual to meet them in the parking lot of a local business and he will meet them. He instructs the individual to call him to tell them when they are there. About 30 minutes later contact is made and the individual is told the subject is unable to meet them and then he requests $500 to $1,000 be sent to him for administration costs. Currently the Bowling Green Police Department has been able to keep anyone from falling for this scam.

If you feel as if you have become a victim of this scam or one similar please contact your local authorities immediately.
