BW Law Group, LLC was established in Kansas City in 2011. However, they are very excited to announce that they have relocated their law firm to Troy, Mo. They welcome the opportunity to serve the residents and businesses of Lincoln County.

Shawna has practiced law for over 10 years. She received her law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2003. She also received a Master of Law degree from Vermont Law School. Shawna was selected as one of the Best of the Bar in 2011 and 2013. She was also selected as a Rising Star in 2012 and 2013 by Super Lawyers. Shawna is very active in the American Bar Association and has published over 20 different articles for various legal publications.

Shawna has a farming background and is originally from Alton, Ill., but grew up in South St. Louis. Shawna moved to Troy to be closer to her family, including her three wonderful nephews. During law school, Shawna managed a sheep and beef cattle farm. Shawna is very active in several agricultural associations and sits on the Board of Representatives for the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology.

Shawna is a determined, strong advocate for her clients. Shawna has handled litigation matters in both state and federal courts across the country. Shawna has handled litigation matters involving personal injury, premises liability, and medical malpractice claims. Shawna has also handled business, employment, and construction litigation, as well as environmental litigation. In the last year, Shawna prevailed against a national railroad company and a large engineering firm.

In addition to her litigation practice, Shawna also practices environmental law, as well as handles several business related matters ranging from contract and lease negotiations, permits and licenses to non-compete agreements.
