Sheriff seeking man for assault of grandmother

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a man  in connection with the assault of his elderly grandmother . A sheriff’s spokesman  say he assaulted her  Monday night because she didn’t write a check to him quick enough.

The subject, Mark Kerpash, 27, has not been charged but paperwork is in the process for a felony elder abuse charge.

According to the report, Kerpash went to his grandmother’s house in the Hawk Point in the 4000 block of Highway 47 and asked for money. When she didn’t act quick enough, he flew into a rage, punch her in the face and held her to the ground. She initially refused treatment but the following day, she was having trouble walking and was was treated at a hospital.

Kerpash is a parole absconder  and has a history of violent tendencies and drug use, authorities say.
