Resident evacuates safely from burning home

On Thursday Jan. 30, 2013 at approximately 3:51 p.m. the Winfield Foley Volunteer Fire Protection District was called to respond to a residential structure fire.

Once on scene, they found smoke coming from a two-story residence. The scene quickly became busy as the firefighters made entrance into the laundry room and worked to extinguish the blaze. The fire was contained to the laundry room, kitchen and basement. The resident was home at the time of the fire and made it out safety. The incident took place north of Winfield in the rural Foley area. The Lincoln County Fire Protection District and Lincoln County Ambulance District was also called to assist with efforts.
