Investigators with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office have identified 30 year old, white male, Steven Cody Ueltzen, of Moscow Mills, as a suspect in the burglary of Troy Buchanan High School Monday night. Investigators learned of Ueltzen’s identity through community tips and people who have associated with him.

Late Tuesday, a Lincoln County citizen found a bank bag with Buchanan High School wording written on it along State Highway RA. This led investigators to the Logan Conservation Area where they found the stolen safe from Troy Buchanan High School Monday night. The suspect used prying tools to open the safe’s door and removed the contents. Investigators also found bank bags and correspondence along the roadside on State Highway RA as if they were thrown from a moving vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office learned Ueltzen was living in his white, late model minivan in Logan Conservation Area where the safe was found. FreyA visitor to the conservation area told investigators Ueltzen asked for help jump starting his van last Thursday. Ueltzen’s last known location was the Super 8 Motel in Troy where he checked out at 10:40 AM on Tuesday under the alias “William Hopper.” Ueltzen is also known to use the alias, “Nick Ueltzen.

Ueltzen stands 5’9” tall, approximately 225 lbs, short brown hair, green eyes with a sleeve tattoo on his left arm, a tattoo on his neck that says “Riley,” and is possibly armed with a .22 caliber long gun and a .357 magnum handgun. Ueltzen has multiple arrests warrants out of Lincoln County and four other agencies to include Unlawful Use of a Weapon, felony Domestic Assault and Endangering the Welfare of Child.

Ueltzen’s may be accompanied by a 33 year old female, Sabrina Frey, of Moscow Mills. Ueltzen is considered armed and dangerous at this time and has history of assaulting law enforcement. If spotted, the public is warned not to approach Ueltzen but call law enforcement authorities immediately.
