The Patriot Guard escorted Marine Corporal James Hasting from his home in Troy to Lambert Airport on Thursday, March 20. James was on his way to Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif. before heading to Afghanistan for his second time. While in Afghanistan James will serve as a Forward Observer guiding aircraft to their targets.

James is a 2009 graduate of Troy Buchanan High School and joined the Marines in 2010. This is James’ second time being honored and escorted by the Patriot Guard. His first time was on his return when the Patriot Guard helped him surprise his then fiancée, Olga, who was enjoying her bachelorette party at the Electric Cowboy. James rode to the airport with his wife, Olga, and their son, Wyatt.
