Fifteen (15) high school students at Elsberry High School joined one of the most prestige groups to belong to during high school, National Honor Society.

Their initiation was held March 28, in the high school library. Students, family, faculty, and friends were welcomed to the program by Steve Hill, principal. Other remarks were made by Karin Busiere, co-sponsor; Anne Heintzelman, chapter president; Sarah O’Brien, co-sponsor; and Tara O’Brien, president-elect.

After the traditional candle lighting ceremony, inductees were lead in the pledge of the organization and presented their certificates by current members. NHS is built on the four concepts of scholarship, leadership, community service, and character.
