Warriors show strong start to the season

On Friday, March, 28, at 5 p.m., Winfield hosted Canton in Winfield’s first game of the 2014 season. The debut game went well for Winfield, with the Warriors winning by a final score of 2-0. Winfield scored one goal in each half and had a strong presence on the field.

Winfield’s goal scorer was (freshman) Karley Kaimann, who scored both of the goals in the game. These were her first two goals of the season.

One of the goals was assisted by (sophomore) Carly Hoelting, making it her first assist of the season.

Olivia Jordan, freshman, played the full 80 minutes as Winfield’s goalkeeper, and made four saves to earn her first solo shut-out of the season.

On Tuesday, April 1, Winfield hosted St. Charles in GAC Conference play. Winfield lost by a final score of 2-0, allowing one goal in each half.

The only statistic of note for Winfield came from Olivia Jordan, who played the full 80 minutes as Winfield’s goalkeeper, and made eight saves in the effort.

The loss drops Winfield’s overall season record to 1-1.
