The board of the Lincoln County Mizzou Alumni Chapter is pleased to announce the fourth annual fundraising event, scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2014. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place indoors at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and will include silent and live auction, raffles, a tailgate inspired menu, with many chances to win Mizzou themed door prizes and auction items. The Norm Ruebling Band will perform which will provide great listening music as well as an opportunity to get up and dance! Special guest Mike Alden will be in attendance with Truman the Tiger. The event is open to alumni and non-alumni alike.

“Our goal is to provide local activities for Mizzou supporters in Lincoln County without having to make the drive to Columbia,” said Tyler Akins, president of the Chapter. “Lincoln County has more Mizzou student per capita than any other county in Missouri and we are very proud of that. We hope the community will come out to support this fundraising event so that we can give back to Lincoln County students in the form of scholarships.” The primary goal of the chapter is to raise funds for additional scholarships for students in Lincoln County who are pursuing an education at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

About Mike Alden

Mike Alden has been at the helm of Missouri athletics since 1998 and it’s no shock his tenure has produced the most comprehensive run of athletic and academic success in school history.

History-making landmarks have occurred each year under Alden’s watch and while each event has been significant, few were as impactful as Missouri’s transition into the Southeastern Conference in July 2012.

A former student-athlete, coach and current President of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics with family roots in Central Missouri, Alden has always understood the importance of Mizzou to the entire state of Missouri and helped usher in a new era with that move to the SEC, which has resulted in record-breaking facility growth, ticket sales and fan/alumni interest.

About The

Norm Ruebling Band

Norm Ruebling is something of a Columbia icon as well as a Lincoln County native.  He is the former associate director of bands for Mizzou and was recently inducted into the Bands of America Hall of Fame. Currently, he performs as percussionist with The Norm Ruebling Band. Norm and his band have promised to “get the party started” and we have no doubt that any resistance to getting out on the dance floor will be futile, because when you hear The Norm Ruebling Band, you MUST dance.
