‘Take Back Drugs’ day

D.A.R.T., the local drug and alcohol reduction team organized in Lincoln County announced that in addition to the Sheriff’s Department, Lincoln County pharmacies will also participate in the April 26 Prescription Drug Take-Back event.

More Americans (6.8 million) currently abuse prescription drugs than those using cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens and inhalants combined. Through proper disposal of prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications, communities can help prevent drug abuse, which makes this event so critically important.

On Saturday, April 26, Lincoln County residents can dispose of unused, expired or unneeded over-the-counter and prescription medications at the Troy Walgreens Pharmacy (100 Jason Drive) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Troy Medicine Shoppe (10 Centerline Drive) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Elsberry Pharmacy (106 Broadway #A) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and, as reported, the Sheriff’s Department.
