Man burglarizes home to cook meth
On Friday, May 30, 2014, the Troy Police Department responded to the 900 block of West Cherry St, in Troy, after receiving a 911 dispatch stating an unknown individual broke into his home and was cooking methamphetamine.
Troy Police quickly spotted and arrested 51-year old Keith Ferdinand Bergman, of Hawk Point, a few blocks from the victim’s home.
The Lincoln County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET), responded to the residence and found items consistent with the manufacturing of a “Shake and Bake” meth lab. Narcotics detectives safely removed the items from the home.
The Narcotic Enforcement Team is currently composed of detectives from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Troy Police Department. NET is also supported by all other law enforcement entities in Lincoln County
Bergman is currently charged with felony Burglary in the First Degree and felony Attempted Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance. Bergman is currently housed at the Lincoln County Jail under a $25,000 cash only bond. Other conditions of bond may apply.
Those charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
