Dr. Amy Salvo and Dustin Nuckolls new associate, assistant principals in Lincoln County, MO
The future principal of a second middle school in the Lincoln County R-III School District has been named.
Dr. Amy Salvo, current New Horizons High School (NHSS) principal, will become Troy Middle School’s associate principal for the 2014-15 school year. The associate principal position is designed to serve under Kelly Briscoe as an assistant principal for two years and then open the second middle school.
Dr. Salvo began her career in the R-III District as New Horizons principal in 2010. She has achieved the following successes while at NHHS: Promising Practice Award for “Choice Time” schedule; increased the number of students taking the ACT by 70 percent; increased the district APR for graduation rate by 6 points; doubled the number of students served by NHHS and achieved a 95 percent graduation rate. Dr. Salvo received her Doctor of Educational Leadership from Maryville University .
Also joining the Troy Middle School team as an assistant principal is Dustin Nuckolls. Currently, he is teaching at Barnwell Middle School in the Francis Howell School District (FHSD).
Nuckolls emerged as a building leader in FHSD by leading professional development on the integration of content specific reading and writing to prepare for the Common Academic standards. He also led building wide training on the use of Kagan Cooperative Learning and served as an administrative intern in summer school and in the FHSD Leadership in Educational Administration Program.
