Lincoln County Senior Citizens Academy plans

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with The Lincoln County Council on Aging (LCCOA), in Troy, will host this year’s Senior Citizens Academy. This three day academy will being on July 21 and run from 12:30  through 3:30 p.m..

The academy is open to the Lincoln County public and will address topics pertaining to senior citizens to include, personal and residential safety, scams, health screenings, bingo prizes, and other available services within the community.

New to this year’s academy is transportation for seniors citizens living outside the City of Troy. Free pick up services are offered from the LCCOA sites in Elsberry, Silex and Winfield starting at 11:30 a.m. on the days of the academy. Return transportation is also provided at the conclusion of each day.

“Last year, I made a commitment to include more seniors living outside the City of Troy area,” said Sheriff John Cottle. “I thank Troy R-III Superintendent Mark Penny for donating the transportation for this year’s academy.”
