Accidents leave four county men with moderate to serious injuries
Four Lincoln County men were injured in separate accidents, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The first accident occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 2 on North Ridge Road, two miles north of Oakland Ridge Estates. According to the Patrol, Douglas Bouldin, 49, of Troy was driving a 2007 Triumph motorcycle and failed to negotiate a curve. The cycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting Bouldin.
He was taken by Lincoln County ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur. His injuries were listed as moderate. He was using a safety device at the time of the accident.
The second accident occurred at 2:35 p.m. that same day on Hwy. 79, just south of Rt. P. According the Patrol’s statement. a 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Patrick Fleming, 63, of Elsberry pulled into the path of a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan driven by Thomas Kinion, 52, of Elsberry. Fleming was not using his seat belt at the time of the accident but Kinion was using a safety device.
Kinion was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis.
An Old Monroe man was seriously injured Aug. 3 in an accident on Route OO at Carrie Lane. Time of the accident was 4:45 p.m.
The report stated that Michael Israel, 29, was driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee when the vehicle experienced a mechanical failure. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. When overcorrected, it caused the Jeep to overturn, ejecting Israel. He was not using a seat belt at the time of the accident.
He was taken by Lincoln County ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur.
On Monday, August 4, at approximately 1:40 p.m. Chandler Hollingsworth, 17, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 47 east of Meier Road.
According to the Patrol, Hollingsworth was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, ran into a ditch and struck a utility pole and two utility boxes. His vehicle began to overturn, and he was ejected from the vehicle.
Hollingsworth was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Air Evac and was listed in serious condition. He was not using a safety device at the time of the accident.
