The Jedi Guys competed at the Missouri State Fair Show Me Robotics Tournament on Aug. 10. The team won first place in the robot competition. They built and programmed a Lego EV3 robot that scored 303 points. The team also placed second in education and outreach. Greg and Karla Allsberry coached the team. Ken Kerpash mentors the team with mechanical design. The Jedi Guys are sponsored by Toyota Cares, Bodine, Inc., The Allsberry Law Firm, Coose Title and River City Robots.

Kent Allsberry has served as the captain of the team for the past two years. This tournament marks the last FLL tournament for Kent. He has officially graduated from the FLL program but plans to mentor others by teaching EV3 programming. He is a first year student on a F.I.R.S.T. TECH Challenge Team ® and a F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team®. More information about F.I.R.S.T.® can be found at usfirst.org
