Wiffle Ball Tournament for Honor Flight veterans

The Central Missouri Honor Flight Program has been touching many lives since it first started. The Mitchell family is hosting the First Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament to support this effort on Sept. 2, 2012 at the Moscow Mills Field of Dreams Ballpark, in Moscow Mills.

This event grew arms and legs because of their dad, grandfather, and great-grandpa to honor his service and the many other veterans in the surrounding counties to raise funds to send them on this awesome adventure called HONOR FLIGHT.

The Mitchell family decided after seeing how much this meant to the ones that attended the trip in May with the dad, grandfather, and great-grandpa, Jim Martin, of Moscow Mills, a WWII veteran, they needed to do something to give back to this wonderful program. So a Wiffle Ball Tournament was what they decided to do because it can involve families, youth groups, veterans, friends and co-workers to come together and have some backyard fun.

The cost of a having a team is not too expensive and the Mitchell family would love to have veterans attend the opening ceremonies to be honored on the day of the tournament. If you pre-register by August 17 your team will get a T-shirt for each member of the team as a “Thank you” for supporting our HONOR Flight efforts. Tournament play will start at 10:30 a.m., there will be check in starting at 8:30 a.m. along with opening ceremonies.

First, second and third place prize to be award in both divisions YOUTH and ADULT. Also the team with the most Patriotic Uniform will be awarded a prize.
