MoDOT has parking lot stencils to encourage motorists to ‘buckle up’

The Northeast Coalition for Roadway Safety is reminding area schools and businesses they can request parking lot stencils that encourage motorists to buckle up and Arrive Alive.

The reusable stencils are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Designs can be painted on concrete or asphalt surfaces in parking lots and driveways of schools and businesses.

With traffic fatalities in Missouri up 13 percent for the year, and 63 percent of those killed in traffic crashes this year not wearing their seat belts, we want to raise awareness of the importance of seat belt usage.

For more information about the stencils or other highway safety resources available to help educate students about safe driving practices, you can contact the MoDOT Northeast District Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-888 ASK MODOT (275-6636), or email us at NECR@modot.mo.gov.
