G. John Richards, 51, of Troy, passed away at 9:08 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at SSM DePaul Health Center, St. Louis, Missouri.
John was born May 12, 1961, in Louisiana, Mo., the son of Raymond Gary and Florence Lucille (Newman) Richards.
John was united in marriage to Pamela (Naugle) Richards on Sept. 23, 1989. They had a daughter, Mackenzie, and a son, Cavanaugh.
On Dec. 30, 2003, John married Denise (Clay) Richards in Troy.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; as well as one daughter, Mackenzie Richards, of Wentzville; two sons, Jordan Richards, of Troy and Cavanaugh Richards, of Wentzville; two brothers, Jeff Richards and wife, Debbie of Winfield, and Jarrod Richards and wife, Ellen, of Troy; his step-father, Bob Croxville, of Troy; two step-sisters, Mindy Ochoa, of Jefferson City and Christine Croxville, of Troy; a step-brother, Mark Croxville, of Troy, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
G. John attended high school at Pleasant Hill High School in Illinois, and graduated from Pittsfield, Ill. High School. He attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and was a 1986 graduate of the University of Missouri Law School in Columbia, John was in private law practice until 1990 when he was elected Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney. He served as prosecutor until 2010. John returned to private practice since then. He was also a professor at Missouri Baptist University in Moscow Mills.
John loved all high school and professional sports and competed in several Fantasy Leagues. He was a huge Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan. He greatly enjoyed camping, boating, and dining out with his family and many friends.
He had been a member of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce, Troy Rotary Club, Troy Kiwanis Club, the Missouri Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, the Drug Court Foundation and the Lincoln County Education Foundation. He was a member of Calvary Chapel, Troy.
John passed along the gift of life to others as an organ and tissue donor.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Calvary Chapel, 28 Snyder Road, Troy. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday evening at Calvary Chapel. Interment was at Long Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ill.

Funeral services for Dick Chilcutt, 88, of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Chilcutt passed away early Tuesday morning, Sept. 18, 2012, at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.
Born Dec. 17, 1923, in Rector, Ark., he was the son of Robert Bruce and Eva Emmaline Finley Chilcutt. He served his country as a United States Navy Seabee from July 20, 1943 until being honorably discharged on March 9, 1946 as a Machinists Mate 3rd Class. He was united in marriage on May 15, 1946 in Piggott, Ark. to Melvagene Margaret Dale. This union was blessed with three children: Howard, Gary and June.
He worked for many years as a tool and die maker for Carter Carburetor (ACF Industries), retiring in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, farming, horseracing and most of all, his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Melvagene Chilcutt, of Elsberry; two sons: Howard Chilcutt and his wife, June, of Town and Country, and Gary Chilcutt and his wife, Pat, of Dardenne Prairie; one daughter, June Foss and her husband, Steve, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 11 grandchildren: Mike Roesslein, Charlene Connors, Jennifer Fallert, Shelly Bliss, Jeff Chilcutt, Joe Chilcutt, Robin Ruckman, Gia Linville, Jayme Chilcutt, Jake Foss and Lindsey Foss; and 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was a much loved “Pop” and “Grandpa” by his family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
