Ruby Louise Ethington, 76, of Troy, took our Lord’s hand Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at her home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Foley to Henry and Opal (Dodson) Reeves, both whom preceded her in death. She had one brother, Joseph Reeves and one son-in-law, Terry D. Jacobs who also preceded her in death.
On Aug. 7, 1954, at Foley, she married Robert P. Ethington, who survives at the home.
Also surviving her are: two sons, Robert P. Ethington, Jr. and wife, Rhonda of Winchester, Va. and Mark L. Ethington of O”Fallon; two daughters, Kimball F. Vaughan, of Troy, and Starla M. Jacobs of Marshall; nine grandchildren, Tifani Ethington, Amanda Schmidt, Jessica Kingsbury, Alicia Ethington, Shawn Gerber, Misty Gerber, Tyler Jacobs, Kerissa Jacobs, and Tayler Jacobs; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Madsen and husband, Kent, of Kearns, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob &Ruby spent the first 21 years of their marriage traveling throughout the United States and other countries with the United States Army. While stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Ruby volunteered her services of teaching women from foreign countries the English language. She was also an active member of First Christian Church of Waynesville, where she taught Sunday School, was a VBS Director, ministered to the developmentaly challenged, Women’s Ministry, and served on various committees.
Bob & Ruby returned to Lincoln County upon her husband’s retirement from U. S. Army, and she became an active member of New Galilee Christian Church as a faithful servant.
Ruby enjoyed crafts, singing, and fellowship with friends. Most of all she loved serving God and spending time with her family.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the New Galilee Church, 1769 East Hwy 47, Winfield, with Pastor Brian Dial, officiating and interment was in the New Galilee Church Cemetery. Visitation was held at Ingersoll Chapel, 211 Boone St., Troy, from 4 until 8 p.m., Sunday evening, Sept. 30, 2012.

Shirley Duvel, 75, Warrenton, passed away Sept. 28, 2012, at her residence.
The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the
Faith Christian Family Church in Warrenton. Funeral will be held that day at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment followed in the Warrenton City Cemetery.
She was a homemaker. Pitman Funeral Home was in charge of family arrangement.
Edward “Eddie” G. Heitman, 81, passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at his residence in Independence, Mo.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1931, in St. Louis, a son of the late Joseph and Albertine Heitman (Krietler). He was united in marriage to Lucille Brouster on Aug. 26, 1950 and to this union three children were born.
Edward graduated from Troy Buchanan High in 1949. He retired from JH Berra as an operating engineer in St. Louis County. Edward was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy and the International Union of Operating Engineer Local# 513.
He is survived by his children: Gerald “Jerry” Heitman and wife, Patti, of Troy, Michael “Mick” Heitman and wife, Rhonda of Anchorage, Alaska and Sharon Keim and husband, Marion “Doc” of Troy; one brother, Louis Heitman and his wife, Doris of Maryville, Tenn.; one sister, Rose Marie Prinster of O’Fallon; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home / Troy Chapel. Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at the Troy Chapel. Officiating will be Jason Heitman. Interment will be private to family in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
