Weather permitting, Monday, October 15, MoDOT and its contractor, Lehman Construction, plan to begin working on miscellaneous repairs and rehabilitation work to the deck of the Cuivre River Bridge on Route H in Lincoln County. Beginning on Monday at 7 a.m. work will begin and the bridge will be closed for up to three to four weeks.
The repairs include the removal and replacement of the deteriorated pavement in acute areas at the edge of the bridge deck. “For worker safety and to speed up repairs it is necessary to close the bridge,” said Erik Maninga, MoDOT’s Area Engineer. “The current load posting on the bridge will not change as a result of this work, however the work is necessary to keep the bridge open to traffic,” Maninga added.
Message boards will be placed alerting motorists of the upcoming closure. Traffic will be detoured over MO 47, US 61 and Route E. “We are working with county officials, schools, emergency responders and local media as we plan for the repairs and road closure,” explained Maninga. The project is expected to be completed the second week of November.
